Born in the quiet hills of Shillong, TLV (formerly The Local Vintage) began as a vintage store and has since evolved into a conscious design studio shaped by texture, transformation, and time. We see clothing not as something disposable, but as something to be lived in, remembered, and carried forward. We work across three worlds — Vintage, Reworked and Studio, each rooted in a single belief: style should last longer than trends.

Our vintage pieces are handpicked from Shillong and from around the world through our travels — curated for their character, history, and quiet charm. Each piece carries traces of its past, thoughtfully restored so it can be worn and loved again.

Our reworked pieces begin with what already exists — upholstery fabrics, men’s blazers, shirts and saris which are transformed through thoughtful upcycling into new silhouettes. Each piece is one-of-a-kind with forgotten clothing finding new forms.

Our studio line is produced in small batches and designed with intention. Alongside this, we offer custom sizing to ensure every piece feels personal and inclusive — made to fit you, not the other way around.

TLV exists to give clothing a longer, more meaningful life. Our pieces move fluidly between Western and Indian wear — corsets with saris, corsets with denim, and brocade sets that can be styled as a lehenga or worn as a corset and skirt co-ord set. Each piece is designed for versatility — to be styled, restyled, and worn often in ways that feel entirely your own.

At TLV we design with purpose, not impulse. In a world that moves fast, we choose to create slowly — celebrating craftsmanship, individuality, and the quiet power of things made to last.
